HEALTH FIRST COLORADO UPDATE
Health First Colorado is transitioning to MediDrive as the state's new non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) broker. The transition is being rolled out in phases across Colorado. Members in Southern Colorado should expect to begin scheduling through MediDrive when Phase 2 launches in Fall 2026.
Health First Colorado is transitioning to MediDrive as its statewide transportation broker for non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT). The transition is occurring in phases, beginning with the nine-county Denver metro area on July 1, 2026. Southern Colorado, including the communities served by Golden Gate Manor Transportation, is expected to transition during Phase 2 in Fall 2026. While the scheduling process is changing, Golden Gate Manor Transportation remains committed to serving our community and helping members understand what to expect during the transition.

Health First Colorado is transitioning to a single statewide broker for non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT). MediDrive will eventually manage trip scheduling, transportation-provider assignments, member support, and related transportation coordination throughout Colorado.
The transition is being completed in phases. Phase 1 began in the nine-county Denver metro area on July 1, 2026. Pueblo, Southern Colorado, and the remaining counties are expected to transition during Phase 2 in Fall 2026, although a specific implementation date has not yet been announced.

Health First Colorado members in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, Larimer, and Weld counties now schedule eligible NEMT services through MediDrive.
PHASE 2
Expected Fall 2026
MediDrive is expected to expand to Pueblo, Southern Colorado, and all remaining Colorado counties during Phase 2. A definitive transition date has not yet been announced.
Southern Colorado members: Continue using the current transportation scheduling process until the Phase 2 implementation date is officially announced. This page will be updated as additional information becomes available.

If you'd like to ride with Golden Gate Manor Transportation, you may request us when scheduling your trip through MediDrive. While provider requests are accommodated whenever possible, they are not guaranteed. Final transportation assignments are determined by MediDrive based on availability, scheduling, and operational considerations.

Once Phase 2 begins in Southern Colorado, eligible Health First Colorado members will schedule non-emergency medical transportation directly through MediDrive.
To avoid delays, we recommend scheduling your trip as early as possible after your appointment is made. Having your appointment information available before calling can make the scheduling process faster and easier.

After your reservation is submitted, MediDrive reviews the request and coordinates transportation with participating providers. While they make every effort to honor provider requests, assignments depend on operational availability.

Some Health First Colorado members may be eligible for mileage reimbursement when they use their own vehicle, a family member, friend, or caregiver to get to a covered medical appointment.
Mileage reimbursement is different from scheduling a ride with a transportation provider. Instead of assigning a vehicle and driver, MediDrive may review reimbursement requests for eligible trips when a member has arranged their own transportation.
Mileage reimbursement may be an option when you or someone you know can drive you to an eligible medical appointment and reimbursement is approved through the proper process.
Contact MediDrive or use the official MediDrive member resources to ask about mileage reimbursement requirements, trip approval, documentation, and how claims are submitted.
When speaking with patients, healthcare facilities can help prepare members for the upcoming transition by encouraging them to have their Health First Colorado Member ID, appointment date and time, facility address, pickup address, and any mobility needs available when scheduling through MediDrive.
